Must Buy: Air Jordan 1 "Banned"

So most of my sneakerheads know about the Red and Black Air Jordan 1's being banned by the NBA. While we have seen retro releases of this shoe before, the details on this pair are what make it special. Crossing out the Jumpman logos on the tongue, foxing and heel are black Xs, serving as an ode to the NBA’s decision to fine Michael thousands of dollars for each game he wore the non-uniform compliant shoe. No word on a release date for now but rest assured these will release in the near future.

They're Back

The Air Max Uptempo III will be included in the hardy holiday releases of retro Nike Basketball product. The shoe bears many of the design cues of the 90s Nike Basketball golden era and, resultantly, will provide ample nostalgia for many.

Those nostalgic ones will likely connect this shoe with Scottie Pippen who wore them frequently during the 96-97 season. To Pippen, the Uptempo IIIs probably played similar to his first signature shoe as they share essentially the same sole as the Air Pippen 1. The hefty resemblance can be seen in the full-length air unit divided by one peak sprouting from the outsole as well as the concentric rings tread on the forefoot section of the outsole.
